I had tried sketching a temple but was never satisfied with the output. I knew that I was either focusing too much on details or I was missing my perspective. It was friday night and we hit two movies in a row. Loopers , Sinister. The first being a action movie worth for its money and latter was a ghost movie which had a good start but lost its touch as it proceeded to a crappy climax. I reached home by 3 a.m and somehow felt that the serene silence in the room was ideal for me to do a quick sketch . I prepared a hot tea, had my laptop in place for listening to folk songs. I sat down and searched "tamilnadu temples" in flickr. Somehow I felt "Gangi konda cholapuram" temple would fit aptly, picked it, started to sketch it straight away. Its a 45 min sketch and felt very satisfied from its output. There is not much details in it but the dimensional touch adds beauty to the sketch . Should try to do more complicated temple sketch next time. Probably , meenakshi temple :)

HOUSE WARMING
One of my office colleague requested a sketch for his house warming invitation. I took reference of my uncle house. This provided me a good learning since I was not comfortable with proportions of a geometric structure. I have made a quite a number of mistakes in this sketch and I need to focus more on the proportions and depth.

Sketches in Black Ink
Black Ink Sketching :
There is something unique about ink sketching. A myriad of cross hatches and lines strokes with a combination of black and white recess can create wonders that can outshine the oil painting and water color painting.
Some of the sketches are done using pencil to highlight the difference it makes when done with a black pen.
